Bristol Regeneration: Vision, Leadership and Delivery
Breakfast Seminar, 29th April

PPS, in association with GVA Grimley and TLT's Planning & Development Team, are pleased to invite you to a breakfast briefing which will consider and discuss the key opportunities and issues surrounding regeneration within Bristol.

This briefing gives a unique opportunity to hear from those involved in the political arena together with those advising public bodies and private developers on regeneration projects in and around Bristol. There will be an opportunity to question the panel of speakers.

Topics covered will include:

  • The Wider Context - Key Opportunities for Regeneration considering how the Regional Spatial Strategy (RSS) supports Bristol's regeneration aspirations and how positive working with Bristol's neighbouring unitaries is key in driving the City's regeneration agenda
  • Key Regeneration Issues for Bristol - Focusing on key transport and infrastructure issues, but also considering other priorities for unlocking potential in Bristol's most deprived neighbourhoods includingtackling worklessness, improved skills and inward investment
  • Making it Deliverable - Exploring how regeneration will be delivered in practice including mainstreaming efforts to tackle deprivation, greater cross-cutting working, continued partnerships within the city and with our neighbours, mixed use development, working with and through neighbourhoods and enhanced community leadership. An overview of the technical planning issues involved in these areas will also be given along with comment on the view of regeneration in Bristol within the media.
This seminar is aimed at senior personnel from development companies, public bodies and consultants and all those with responsibility for planning and development projects.

We are very pleased to welcome Councillor Helen Holland, Leader of the Labour Group/Bristol City Council as the key speaker at this event.

With all Welsh authorities having full elections on 1 May 2008 PPS, one of the UK’s leading planning and regeneration public affairs companies, would like to invite you to a post election breakfast briefing to explain how political composition has changed, which key members stood down or lost their seats and the potential impact on your current and proposed projects in the country.

The PPS briefing will be held:

Date: Time/Schedule Venue:
Tuesday 6th May 8.00am Registration and breakfast
8.30am Briefing and questions
Park Plaza, Cardiff

There are a limited number of spaces available so please let us know as soon as possible if you can attend. Once spaces are filled you will be put on a waiting list and notified if there are any cancellations.

PPS was set up in 1990 to advise companies on how best to communicate with councils, local communities and the media. From the first day the service was aimed specifically at those facing complex and difficult planning problems and the vast bulk of our income still comes from assisting clients with planning issues.
